Companies represent the organizations your customers belong to. On a company’s page, you can view that company’s profile, its associated contacts, and all interactions these contacts have had with your team—all in one place. Each customer can be linked to only one company.

Companies screen

Click the "Customers" icon on the left sidebar; in the "Companies" folder of the panel that opens, there are two rows: "All Companies" and "New," which shows companies added in the last 7 days. The table includes the following columns: Company (name and email domain), People, Industry, City, and Created. The search box in the "Companies" section searches for company names and domain names.

To view companies, you need the "View Companies" permission; to create, edit, and delete companies, you need the "Create, Edit, and Delete Companies" permission. Users without this permission will not see the Companies folder in the dashboard.

Creating a Company

  1. New Company — Click the button in the upper-right corner of the Companies page or the + button next to the Companies folder in the panel.
  2. Company Name — This is the only required field (maximum 160 characters).
  3. Other information — Website, Email domain, Phone number, Industry, Number of employees, Tax ID, Tax office, Country, City, Address, and Notes are optional.
  4. Create — The company page opens.

You can also create a company directly from within a call: if the customer does not yet have a company, click “New Company” in the “Company” section of the call’s Details panel. The customer is immediately linked to the company created this way.

To add company-specific fields, create a new attribute on the Settings › Custom Attributes screen and select "Company" in the "Where it appears" field. These fields will appear on the company form and the company page.

Email domain name and company suggestion

When you enter the company’s email domain extension (e.g., acme.com) in the email domain field, suggestions will appear for customers who use that extension and are not yet associated with a company. The customer’s Company card will display “Email domain matches ... company,” and you can link the person with a single click using the button below. The link is never established automatically.

  • Whether you paste the domain name as https://www.acme.com or an email address, only the acme.com portion is saved.
  • A domain name can only be registered with one company.
  • General email providers such as Gmail, Hotmail, Outlook, Yahoo, iCloud, and Yandex cannot be registered as a company domain name; otherwise, everyone using that provider would be associated with the same company.

Linking a Person to a Company

You can connect a customer to the company in three ways:

  • In the customer profile or the call panel, click "Link to Company" on the Company card and select the company from the list. For users who already have a linked company, the same button appears as "Edit"; "Remove" breaks the link.
  • On the Company page, click "Add Person" on the People card and select the customer. If the person is associated with another company, they will be replaced with the new one.
  • When a suggestion appears, click the suggestion button on the Company card.

To remove a person from the company, click the "X" next to their name in the People list on the company page. The person is not deleted; they are simply removed from the company.

Company page

The company page consists of three sections:

  • Company Information → The company details and attributes you entered in the form.
  • People → Company-affiliated customers and their numbers. Clicking on a person opens their profile.
  • Calls → Calls made by everyone in the company to your team. Clicking on a row opens the call.

"Edit" in the upper right changes the company details; "Delete" removes the company. Contacts from the deleted company remain as customers without a company; their conversations are not affected.

Companies in the customer list

The "Company" column in the customer list displays the person’s company; clicking on the company name opens the company page. You can use the "Company" filter in the "Filter" menu to list the people associated with a specific company, and you can save this view as a dynamic segment.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can a customer be linked to two companies?

No. Each customer has only one company; when you link a new company, the previous link is removed.

Are companies the same as accounts in an ERP system or B2B dealers?

No. CRM companies belong to the CRM system and are not linked to ERP customer or dealer records. You can view a customer’s account balance in the “Account Balance” section of the conversation.
