The Tax returns screen lists periodic tax returns along with their due dates and statuses. A tax return starts as a Draft and becomes Submitted after it is approved.

Setup Process

  1. Select the period and taxpayer — on the Prepare Tax Return screen.
  2. Check source records — The tax return is generated from the period’s vouchers and document transactions; no figures are entered manually.
  3. Preview and approve — Approval authority depends on your role; the Intern role cannot approve tax returns.
  4. Submit — After submission, the tax return status changes and the correction enters a separate workflow.

Carryover VAT is not a refund. It is added to the deduction for the next period — do not track it with the expectation of a refund.

  • Tax return Calendar → Upcoming Deadlines, by Taxpayer
  • Correction → A new tax return correcting a previously submitted tax return
  • Batch → Prepare multiple tax returns of the same type in a single run
  • Archive → Previously Submitted Tax Returns
  • Stamped Papers · Withholding Tax Items → Auxiliary items included in the tax return

A series from a given period reads the tax return that was in effect during that period—an invalidated chain of amendments is not taken into account.

Common Scenarios

If the tax return list is empty, first check whether the taxpayer has any transaction entries or documents for that period. If the taxpayer has the "EXAMPLE" badge, it is a demo account and cannot generate official documents.
